Why Don’t Restaurants Serve Organic Food?

How come restaurants don’t serve organic food, or at least offer the option to upgrade to organic? You don’t see this in traditional restaurants, and I think a restaurant owner Would point out that if they use organic ingredients, this is going to lead to a price increase and they don’t want to increase prices more than they already have.

They may also argue that their customer base wouldn’t pay for the upgrade. It could also be difficult to integrate organic. There could also be supply chain limitations where farmers may not be able to supply the volume or there may be inconsistency in when they can offer it. They may also perceive a lack of demand.

Customers are already buying. Why change the way they’re doing things when they are, they’re already successful. And then may, there may also be the argument that if we switch to organic customers, won’t be able to tell the difference anyway. Then there will be price increases and there won’t really be.

This, this noticeable gain, it will just be more in perception. And I would counter that there’s a reason people shop at Whole Foods. There’s a reason people buy organic and it’s because they want organic ingredients. Maybe it’s for ethical concerns. Maybe it’s for taste concerns. Maybe it’s for wholesomeness, purity, health reasons for any number of reasons.

People want organic food. So it stands to reason if they’re buying organic in the grocery store, why would they not buy organic in a restaurant? I think that more restaurants should look into this and potentially gain a first mover advantage. Now I know there are some health centric restaurants or.

Probably more aptly called eateries or cafes where they do offer organic ingredients, but I’m not referring to those. I’m referring to the restaurants that are more traditional restaurants and that are the ones that, that they’re not like a niche restaurant, but rather a regular traditional restaurant.

But that would also offer organic food and you just don’t see that.
